The Mat-Su Borough is looking for borough residents interested in taking part in a road service area task force.
The task force comes after an attempt to change how the Big Lake Road Service Area handles contracts drew widespread criticism.
The task force will last from May to December of this year. It will consist of five members and two alternates nominated by Mat-Su Borough Mayor Edna DeVriesand confirmed by the Borough Assembly.
Items to be considered by the task force include the proposed change to the Big Lake Road Service Area as well as how such a change in contracts might apply to other areas in the borough. It will also consider questions related to brush-cutting and substandard roads throughout the Mat-Su.
