The Susitna Valley Girls Basketball Team captured fourth place at the state tournament held this weekend in Anchorage.
The Lady Rams entered the tournament seeded sixth and faced off against third-seeded Metlakatla, losing 26-31. The loss kicked Su-Valley into the consolation bracket of the single-elimination tournament. In a single-elimination tournament, one loss is sufficient to deny a team a championship bid.
The Rams then proceed to win against Nenana and Unalakleet to secure fourth place. Tikigaq won the state championship by beating Wrangell 56-42. Glennallen placed third.
