Su Valley Heads to Glennallen for Conference Basketball Tournament

The Susitna Valley Rams are in Glennallen this weekend for the Interior Conference Basketball Tournament.  The top two finishers in the boys and girls division will advance to the state tournament later this month.

The Su Valley girls came into the tournament as the top seed after a very successful regular season.  That earned them a first round bye.  The Rams played their first game Thursday evening against Cordova, winning by a score of 51 to 22.  They will face Glennallen in the championship game at 8:00 pm tonight.  If they win that game, they are guaranteed a berth in the state championship tournament.  If the Rams lose, they will still have an opportunity to claim second place. Su Valley faced off against Glennallen last week and came out on top by a score of 31 to 21.

The Su Valley boys lost their first game of the tournament against Nenana, but can still earn a spot in the state tournament by moving through the lower bracket.  Their next game will be against Tok.
