The Susitna Valley Rams Girls Volleyball team will be headed to the state tournament later this week. The Rams earned their spot by winning the Borealis Conference Tournament earlier this month. In that tournament, they defeated Cook Inlet Academy, Unalaska, Lumen Christi, and tournament runner-up Birchwood Christian.
The state tournament begins Thursday at Palmer High School. Su Valley’s first opponent will be Dillingham, who finished second in the Southwest Conference. The victor will move on to face the winner of Tri-Valley versus Metlakatla.
Last year, the Rams began the state tournament with a loss to eventual state champions, Craig.
Su Valley’s first match begins at 11:45 am on Thursday.
