In the first half of the show we hear from Brenda McCain, Willow CERT Program Director, who goes over the recent Su Valley Safety Fair that took place in Willow. Brenda talks about training for community members who may want to become CERT volunteers as well as programs all may participate in: Kids Don’t Float, Save it for the Shore, Stop the Bleed.
Brian Robison, Outdoor Recreation Specialist for the Northern District of the Matanuska Susitna Borough gives an update on Talkeetna Lakes Park trail conditions and use as well as clean up efforts in the Village Park.
In the second half of the show Aubrey Smith, Certified Health Coach and Nutrition Expert at Talkeetna Elementary School, describes her recent event: Kickstart Your Health for Summer: How to Get Fit and Feel Good! She then joins Trisha in listening to and commenting on a clip provided by Paul Foreman, Chief Medical Officer with Sunshine Clinic in which he gives tips on ways to have a healthy and safe summer.
