Alaska State Troopers arrested 47-year-old Talena Bess on December 26th for Assault in the Third Degree for an incident in Trapper Creek.
Troopers report receiving a call on December 26th at 5:15 pm from a victim regarding a stabbing that occurred the day prior, on Christmas Day. The incident happened in the Bradley Road area of Trapper Creek. The victim, who has not been named, reported that Bess stabbed her in the back in the victim’s driveway.
Alaska Department of Public Safety Communications Director Austin McDaniel says they are investigating how Bess got the weapon used in the assault. He says the victim reported that the two allegedly had an altercation prior to Bess stabbing her.
The victim did not request medical assistance and had already cared for the wound in the day between the incident and the report, according to McDaniel.
Bess is being held without bail at Mat-Su pretrial. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for January 6th.
