The Upper Susitna Community and Senior Center currently hosts lunches each Tuesday, but they are adding one more lunch date on the third Thursday of each month. For $14 ($11 for members) anyone can come in, grab a plate, and dig in.
Kevin O’Conner, the Executive Director of the center, said the program is more than just a meal. He said, “So not only do they get a good meal, but on top of that, folks are having an opportunity just to have fun.”
O’Conner added excuses to go out and engage in the community are much needed especially after COVID-19.
“People got stuck staying home, and they got used to that,” he said.
O’Conner hopes that an additional lunch each month will provide people with more opportunities to come in and connect.
The Upper Susitna Community and Senior Center starts their new program Thursday, January 16th from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
