The Susitna-Valley High School Boys Basketball team placed second at the 15th Annual Crowley Classic this year. The basketball tournament was held last weekend at Su-Valley High School. The Rams were defeated 48-53 by Tri-Valley, in a contest that wasn’t decided until the last few seconds of the game.
Su-Valley took fifth in Girls Tournament. Wrangell High School took home the first place trophy for the girls, with Palmer High School claiming second place.
Miles Osmond, Colton Thompson and Douglas Drover of Su-Valley, were named to the Boy’s All-Tournament Team. Owen Drumm was awarded the “Heart & Hustle” award. Drumm was also the winner of the tournament’s “Three Point Shooter” contest.
For the Lady Rams, Ashley Delima (De-leema) , Lily Esmailka (Esmelka) and Poppy Moren were named to the Girls All-Tournament Team. Sahai Benischek (Beneshek) took home the “Heart & Hustle” award, and Lily Esmailka won the “Three Point Shooter” contest.
The Su-Valley Boys basketball team is coached by Josh Sandifer and John Eastwood. The Lady Rams are coached by Jimmy Sickler and Eli & Angela Hoffman.
