Progress continues on Mat-Su Borough library strategic plan

At the beginning of the year, the Mat-Su Borough brought in the consulting firm Rose Group International to assist in creating a strategic plan for the Borough’s public libraries. Strategic planning typically happens every five years and aims to understand what the community is using libraries for, how the library can better help the needs of the community, and lay out a plan for libraries to grow.

The consulting firm spoke with library staff and hosted open houses to get feedback from the community on their libraries.

According to Borough Community Development Department Director Jillian Morrissey, the Community Development Department is actively reviewing the information gathered by Rose Group International and plans to deliver a final report later this spring.
