About $30,000 Stolen in Trapper Creek Thefts

Four property owners were victims of thefts last week, totaling about $30,000 in stolen equipment, vehicles, tools, and other items. Alaska Department of Public Safety Communications Director Austin McDaniel says the items were stolen between March 21st and 23rd. They were all taken from the Kroto Creek parking lot and Parks Highway pull-outs in Trapper Creek.

He also says this is the most significant property crime reported within the last few months in the area. And that as days get longer and temperatures increase, many crimes increase across the State.

McDaniel says to secure property, don’t leave valuables in unsupervised vehicles, and to be on the lookout for suspicious vehicles or persons. DSP is asking that anyone with information about the thefts to contact the Troopers at 907.352.5401.
