At about 9:40 pm on Friday, a homeowner called 9-1-1 to report two thieves actively burglarizing her Talkeetna cabin on McKinley View Drive. Alaska Department of Public Safety Information Officer Tess Williams says Palmer-based Troopers arrived about a half hour after the initial call. Troopers found about 15 individuals on site. Most were family and friends of the homeowner.
Aaron Raymond of Chugiak and Kareem Roberts of Anchorage were arrested for first and second degree burglary and fourth degree theft. Troopers report that Raymond and Roberts forced entry into the cabin and multiple storage units. Raymond also was charged with one count of violating conditions of release for a previous charge. Troopers also found that Raymond had two active warrants for his arrest. One vehicle being used during the burglary was impounded.
Williams says the value of the stolen items is still under investigation.
