Susitna-Valley’s, Jesse Wentworth, placed first in the women’s high jump, at the Alaska State Track Meet, held last weekend in Anchorage. Wentworth, a sophomore, jumped 5 foot even to win the competition.
Wentworth had previously reached a height of 5 foot 2 inches at the Region 2 Meet. At that event, she narrowly missed topping the Su-Valley school record.
Austin Bernard placed second in the men’s high jump by reaching a height of 5 foot ten inches. Bernard also placed third in the 100 meter dash.
Both the Womens’ and the Mens’ teams placed eleventh at the Alaska State High School Track and Field Meet.
