At their meeting this week, the Mat-Su Borough Assembly approved updates to scopes of work and budgets for several bridges, including two in the Upper Valley.
The Montana Creek Bridge near Talkeetna will see updates which include lead paint removal and repainting, as well as armoring the banks upstream of the bridge.
The amended budget total for the Montana Creek Bridge project is about $320,000.
An amended scope of work for the Shirley Towne Bridge was also approved. The updated scope is to conduct routine maintenance and for repairs, which include guard rail and deck replacement.
The amended budget total for the Shirley Towne Bridge project is $178,000.
These projects were approved in this year’s budget.
