Alaska State Troopers responded to a report of a stolen ATV near Talkeenta on Sunday. The Polaris 500 Sportsman ATV was parked at a residence along the Parks Highway.
Department of Public Safety Information Officer Tess Williams says the resident was not home at the time of the theft. There are no cameras in the area and the suspect or suspects are unknown at this time.
Troopers are still investigating whether the suspects rode the ATV out of the property or if it was towed away. Williams says AST reminds residents to be proactive in protecting personal property by ensuring items are locked and properly stored. Anyone with information about the theft can contact Troopers, Crime Stoppers, or AKTips.
