King to pay restitution

Iditarod musher Jeff King, of Denali Park, has been ordered to pay a $4,000 fine and another $450 in restitution to the National Park Service for illegally killing a moose inside park boundaries last year. The sentence was handed down in a Fairbanks court Friday.

King was found guilty of shooting a moose inside the park boundary in a Fairbanks court in October. The illegal action occurred last year and King demanded he was innocent and wanted his case seen in court.

At the 4-hour sentencing on Friday, King also had his hunting privileges revoked for the next 3 years.
