Vandals hit Su Valley portables

Sunday night, Talkeetna youth vandalized Su Valley High School portables.

At approximately 11 p.m.  Troopers responded to the temporary high school for a security check after receiving a tip that the school might be vandalized sometime during the evening.

Troopers contacted an 18 year old male who ran into the woods.  The troopers recognized the male and called his cellphone.  The boy returned to the scene and investigation showed that he and his 4 accomplices caused about $2000 in damage to 13 portable classroom unit staircases.

Tues – According to Trooper spokesperson Megan Peters, all persons involved with the vandalism have been contacted.  She said the incident was to be considered a senior prank but crowbars used to disassemble the staircases led to damages that amounted to approximately $2000.  She could not speculate on the charges that may come about.  Anderson was arrested and sent to pre-trial because he ran from the scene.   Peters says the investigation is on-going at this point, but other information may be released in the next few days.
