Fire consumed a north Willow home on Wednesday, leaving a family of 6 homeless.
The Burke family was able to save two of their three dogs and the clothes on their backs, but lost their home, outbuildings and their German Shepherd.
The family was awakened by fire in the middle of the night and barely escaped.
Work was underway on a new family cabin, which was not touched by the fire. Currently that house doesn’t have a roof yet. Construction is continuing and family friends say the best way to help is donate money to Moore’s so the Vincent Burke can finish the house.
The family has received a voucher from the Red Cross for clothes and people in charge of donations say at this point, enough clothing has been donated. One of the children is diabetic and friends say if people are thinking of donating food, that special need has to be kept in mind. Healthy foods are appreciated.
Donations are currently being accepted at Willow Elementary, Su Valley High and the Methodist Church in Willow.
