Winterfest weekend is packed with events, from ice carving to chili cook-offs to parades to craft sales. And of course, the Bachelor Auction and Wilderness Women’s Contest. One new event invites the community to participate in a strolling sing-along with students from Su Valley Junior/ Senior High school.
Music instructor Shauna Saatzer says she was thinking of ways to show her students different ways to incorporate music into everyday life. She says she had a hard time finding the right way to participate, until one day it came to her:

Saatzer says she hopes that the event could become a musically enriching tradition. She says the students have been practicing, so no matter how you may feel about your singing, there will be people there who know what they are doing.

The Students will perform at the PTA Craft Fair at Talkeetna Elementary on Saturday afternoon, and they will begin walking and caroling from the elementary at 4 pm.
