Alaska has the highest report rate of sexual assault of any state in the country. The University of Alaska Anchorage’s Justice Center wants to speak with Alaskans who have reported a sexual assault to the Alaska State Troopers.
Dr. Johnson wants to speak with Alaskans who were adult victims of sexual assault, and reported the crime to Alaska State Troopers between 2006 and 2016. Johnson says interviewee information is confidential, and stories gathered will be used to help the Troopers improve responses to sexual assault in the future. Those who participate in the research are eligible to receive a $45 gift card.
Those interested in participating can contact Dr. Johnson by email at idjohnson@alaska.edu or by phone at 907-786-1126.
