This is a developing story – check back here later. The Parks Highway streams in Unit 2 of the Susitna River drainage and the Little Susitna River are closed to fishing for king salmon effective at 11:00 pm Friday, July 2 through the remainder of the king salmon season. The areas closed are: lower sections of the Kashwitna and Willow, little Willow, Greys Creek, Caswell, Sheep, Montana, Goose, Sunshine, Birch, Trapper and Rabideaux Creeks and all flowing waters of the Su River from the confluence with the Deshka upstream to the confluence with the Talkeetna.
A seperate emergency order reduces the annual limit for king salmon in the Talkeetna and Chulitna River drainages in Units 5-6 of the Su River drainage from five fish to one, also effective July 2 at 11 pm.
