Alaska State Parks Updates Existing Reservation System
Alaska State Parks is transitioning to a new reservation system at the end of this month. Public use cabins and reservable campsites in the park system are currently hosted through Aspira - Reserve America. That contract expires on September 27th. Beginning October 1st, reservations will be hosted by Tyler Tech, Inc.
During the migration period of September 28th through September 30th, State Parks customers will be able to view existing reservations through their account. However, there will be no ability to create new reservations, modify, or cancel existing reservations until the new system is launched on October 1st.
The new reservation system will include updated features like a rolling three-month reservation window, a $4.50 reservation fee and no cancelation or change fees.
Some of the more remote parks, outside of the Mat-Su and Anchorage area, will continue using a six-month window for reservations.
Alaska Department of Natural Resources says that step-by-step instructions will be provided to all current account holders, via email, on how to access their new account.
