House District 10, which include the Northern Susitna Valley, will have to wait a little while longer before seeing updated unofficial results from the August 18th Republican primary.
Counting of mail-in absentee ballots began on Tuesday across the state, and while some areas are posting updated numbers, the Mat-Su is not among them.
Current unofficial results show incumbent Representative David Eastman leading challenger Jesse Sumner by seventy-nine votes out of more than 2,000 total votes cast on Election Day. There could be as many as a thousand additional votes still yet to be tallied.
Even once those votes are tallied, the results will remain unofficial until certified by the Alaska Division of Elections. KTNA will provide updates as counting continues.
