On the heels of Mayor Larry DeVilbiss’ veto pen, the Talkeetna Community Council voted unanimously to send a letter to the Mat Su Borough and AT &T regarding a new cellphone tower near Lichtenwalner Road.
The tower has been through 2 public comment meetings. Cary Birdsall reported on the latest public comment session at the community council meeting on Monday night.
A balloon test is set to occur to test the distance from which the tower can be seen be area residents. The 120 foot high tower will be setback from the roadway 150 feet.
The council is sending a letter to the Borough asking they ensure the setback from the property line is adhered to and that the access road that was agreed upon is in the proper location.
