John Baker is the winner of the 39th Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race and is the first Inupiaq since 1976 to win the race. His team raced under the burled arches in Nome at 9:46 this morning. Baker has set the record for the fastest time to Nome in 8 days 19 hours and 46 minutes.. Sue Deyoe spoke with reporter Diana Haecker, who was at the finish line:
