The 5 person bicycle is on its way to Talkeetna. The Pedouins started out on a bicycle journey from the lower 48 to Alaska almost a year ago. They have traveled seven thousand miles so far and are staying along the Parks Highway Friday night. They will be bicycling along the Talkeetna Spur Road on Saturday and when they found out Talkeetna had a library, they enthusiastically said they might stay an extra day.
Bill and Amarins and their 3 young children have fashioned a bicycle built for 5, a vehicle that Mike Fisher would have loved to see.
The family doesn’t make many plans in advance and will be scoping out camping spots along the way. Their long journey will end in Fairbanks after a stop in Denali National Park and a few other spots along the way. On their website, they invite people to ride along, to donate to the cause or to offer a campsite or write down a cheer of encouragement on their webpage.
