The Birch Forest of the Upper Susitna Valley is getting ready to explode with green vigor.

While there may still be a some time before the leaves are out, the sap is running.

Talkeetna’s Kahiltna Birchworks says that now is a good time to tap your birch tree for

the delicious natural tonic. KTNA’s Katie Writer spoke with Dulce Ben-East about simple tips

of tapping Birch trees.
