Campaign season is revving up for the Borough mayoral election.
Larry DeVilbiss attended the Talkeetna Community Council meeting Monday night and encouraged everyone to vote on January 11th for Mat Su Borough mayor. He said a low turnout is expected since no other items will be on the ballot and asked attendees to make it a higher turnout than the Borough is predicting. Eight people are on the ballot. Borough Clerk Lonnie McKechenie says she hopes to have a brochure of candidates posted to their website next week. A brochure will be mailed to voters by the end of the year.

A brief discussion was held on the Susitna Dam. Cary Birdsall suggested that a forum or several forums be held where various experts could be called in to discuss the aspects of the dam and its future.
