Borough officials travel to Upper Valley for public input sessions

A meeting scheduled for next Thursday will bring several Mat-Su Borough officials to the Upper Susitna Valley for a listening session with local community councils and road service boards.Assemblyman Vern Halter spearheaded the effort to organize the whirlwind tour of borough District 7 with meetings scheduled in Meadow Lakes, Willow and at the Upper Susitna Senior Center.

Halter said that interim borough manager Elizabeth Gray and borough department directors such as Shaune O’Neill and Chuck Braun with the Public Works department are going to be present.

The purpose of the meeting is to give the community councils the chance to directly speak with borough officials face to face and to let them know about the most pressing issues that need to be addressed.

Susitna Community Council president Robert Coleman said he wants to hear from the public as the council members get ready with a list of questions or comments for the borough employees. Coleman asks residents to call or email council members (councilmembers@susitnacc.org) with suggestions by October 12.

The meeting will take place at 1:30 pm on Thursday, October 14 at the Senior Center.
