Talkeetna Elementary School seeking volunteers – Discovery Day Activities
Talkeetna Elementary SchoolTalkeetna Elementary School is seeking volunteers for their upcoming Discovery Day activities for students on May 19th, 20th, and 21st. Each activity will run for about two hours and serve a small group of students. They are looking for volunteers to lead or assist with activities like sewing, geocaching, tie-dyeing, and bead making. Salmon Run Art Auction entries deadline
Entries for this year’s Salmon Run Art Auction fundraiser benefiting the Talkeetna Historical Society are due at the Museum by Sunday, June 15. The Talkeetna Community Council is currently looking to fill one vacant Board member seat. Interested candidates can submit a Declaration of Candidacy available at talkeetnacouncil.org. The elected candidate will sit on the Board until the next election cycle in November. The candidate is required to live within the Talkeetna Community Council area; the map available on the council's website. Candidates will be accepted until the next meeting on August 4th at which the vote will take place.

Community Herb Garden
The Community Herb Garden located at the Talkeetna Public Library is growing well and needs some pruning. Anyone is welcome to come pick some herbs, but leave the plants intact. The Seed Catalog has been put to bed, but there are some new and timely publications from the Co-Operative Extension Service.
