    Talkeetna Community Council is looking for community members to serve on their Community Assistance Program (CAP) committee.  The committee will meet in late April to review grant applications and make recommendations on how to distribute CAP funds.     • Youth Field Educator, focused on leading youth programs in Talkeetna, with the opportunity to lead camping trips in the Denali region
    • Talkeetna Educator, focused on the planning, preparation, and delivery of Talkeetna’s suite of youth and adult programming
    • Instructor-in-Training, an opportunity for 16 to 21-year-olds to get hands-on experience leading youth programming in Talkeetna

    Talkeetna Library is looking for some volunteers for the Summer Reading Program. If you have a special skill or craft that you would like to share with the kids in Talkeetna, please give the library a call at 907-861-7645. Most programs take place on Thursdays between 11am and 2pm, with the age groups of 0-6 and 6 to 15.

    Talkeetna Elementary School

    Talkeetna Elementary School is seeking volunteers for their upcoming Discovery Day activities for students on May 19th, 20th, and 21st. Each activity will run for about two hours and serve a small group of students. They are looking for volunteers to lead or assist with activities like sewing, geocaching, tie-dyeing, and bead making.     Entries for this year’s Salmon Run Art Auction fundraiser benefiting the Talkeetna Historical Society are due at the Museum by Sunday, June 15.
