Talkeetna Elementary School hosts a Choose-Your-Ending Story Ski Night on Thursday, April 3rd, from 5:00 to 6:30 PM. This Title 1 Event takes place along Talkeetna Elementary School's on-site ski trails, featuring an interactive, choose your own adventure, story. After your ski, you can warm up by a campfire. There will be hot dogs, tater tots, s’mores, and hot cocoa. Ski gear is available for students on a first-come, first-serve basis. All are welcome. The 35th annual Talkeetna-Trapper Creek Birdathon begins on Friday, May 2nd, at 6 pm and continues until 6 pm on Saturday, May 3rd. Area residents and their guests are welcome to participate by identifying as many species of birds as can be found in the count circle during the 24 hour period. You can go birding by yourself or with family or friends, traveling “green” or using a vehicle. Participants gather around a fire in the evening on Saturday. Willow CERT and Willow Caswell Fire Department host Wildland Preparedness Public Education Day on Saturday, May 3rd at the Willow Fire Station from 11am until 5pm. There will be a car wash, fire safe presentations, and BBQ food. More information at the Willow CERT Facebook Page. Willow Area Community Organization hosts the annual Willow Community Clean-up from 12 to 5pm on Saturday, May 3rd and Sunday, May 4th. Yellow trash bags may be picked up from Newman's Gas Station, Roni's Deli, and the Willow Community Center Lobby.
