Chamber announces chili contest winners

Lori Chesney has become the chili maker to beat in the Upper Valley. The Talkeetna Chamber of Commerce reports that her Bare – B-A –R-E Chili at the Talkeetna’s Best Chili Contest in downtown Talkeetna during the Wilderness Woman Contest took first place as well as the People’s Choice Award. She was the champion at the Fire Department’s contest this summer and was also last years Best Chili Contest first place winner.
She says that she uses a different recipe for each chili contest.
One hundred percent of the proceeds from the winter chili contest go to the Talkeetna Chamber of Commerce Scholarship Fund which benefits local students and adults.
Second place winner at the contest was Krystal Henson and Vern Rauchenstein took third place.
