According to a press-release from Denali National Park, the Park Road will be open to private vehicles up to the Teklanika (TEK-la-NEE-kah) rest stop, located at Mile 30. Beginning on September 18th, the Murie Science and Learning Center will function as the visitor center for the winter and will issue backcountry permits. Most Park facilities and campgrounds will be closed for the winter. Denali National Park spokeswoman Kris Fister says that, since weather can be unpredictable, visitors are encouraged to call the Park in order to learn about current road conditions.
