The Denali Nordic Ski Club held their annual meeting this weekend and elected a new board of directors.
Various plans and ideas were discussed. A new visioning committee to deal with recently acquired property was formed. The late Mike Fisher willed his property on Mastadon road, called Suzanne’s Cabin, to the Ski Club for their use. The club also owns property on Powers Road. The committee will brainstorm ideas and the best possible uses for the two properties.
Other discussion centered on a grant that was received by the Borough to map proposed new trails at Borough’s X-Y Lakes Park. The Ski Club hopes to help steer the work, which includes new ski trails, a proposed warming shack and viewing stand for racing events.
The newly elected board of directors is President Mike Wood, Chris Mannix, Art Mannix, Willie Prittie, Joe Reichert , Sandy Shoulders and Diane Zeigner.
New secretary/treasurer Joe Reichert says the committees and the new board will be meeting later in January.
