Denali Park Road lottery open

Residents wanting to take part in the annual Denali National Park road lottery have the next 4 weeks enter their chance to win a drive into the Park.

The 2009 annual road lottery in Denali National Park is taking place on September 18^th thru the 21^st, weather permitting.

Lottery entries must be postmarked in the month of June.  The entry period ends June 30^th.  Previously, entries were taken in the month of July. The change is based on requests from previous road lottery participants to provide more time to make travel arrangements. And for the first time, residents can apply on line. 

A total of 400 vehicles per day, each day of the lottery is allowed. Vehicles can drive the entire length of the road. There are 3 campgrounds within the park open the road lottery weekend. 

If residents win a day in the park and are unable to attend, the permits are transferable.

Lottery winners are selected on July 15^th.  The names selected will be posted on the park website.
