Currently there are 888 climbers registered to attempt Denali this season. 210 climbers are on the mountain, and 22 have returned, with two making it to the summit thus far. Eleven climbers are registered to climb Mt. Foraker, and eight are currently making their attempts. Two climbers have come down from Mt. Foraker with no summits thus far.
Reports from ranger patrols on Denali say the upper mountain has been windy for the last two days. Gusts of over forty miles per hour were measured on Wednesday.
A handful of climbing teams were hunkering down around 14,000 feet as they waited for the winds to die down as of Thursday, and patrols were not able to get much work done with the blustery weather. The third patrol remains in Talkeetna waiting for the weather to clear so they can fly into base camp.
