A first time events for artists is being planned for the end of August in Denali STATE park at Byers Lake.
The state park is inviting artists as well as art enthusiasts to spend a weekend at the first of many ‘arts in the park’ events across Alaska.
Plein Air artists specializing in outdoor painting will spend the weekend at Byers Lake. Although painting is the focus, the event is open to artists using all mediums, including photography, storytelling and sculpture. There will be a juried art show and group art project for children.
The weekend’s schedule is still being assembled. Artists are being encouraged to help organize and plan events.
More information can be found by calling Alaska State Parks. The event is held on August 26th through August 28th at Byers Lake.
