Some time over the weekend, an excavator and tractor-trailer were vandalized in the Benka Lake area near Talkeetna. Alaska Department of Public Safety Information Officer Tess Williams says by email that Troopers responded to the report made on Monday morning.
Williams says the equipment’s wiring and tires were vandalized and says the owner estimates damage at about $50,000. She does not indicate that any property was stolen during the incident.
When asked about cameras, Williams says Troopers are unaware of any cameras in the area that might have documented the incident.
Troopers request anyone with information about the incident to submit tips online or through the AKTips smartphone app. Williams says the investigation is active and ongoing.
