Talkeetna Community Clean-Up Day
Susitna River Coalition in partnership with the Denali National Park and Preserve is hosting their annual Talkeetna Community Clean-Up Day to help clean-up along Talkeetna’s popular Chase Trail and the riverfront on the Talkeetna River on Saturday, August 24th, 10 am – 2 pm. Everyone is welcome to join this fun, family-oriented activity.
Volunteers will collect trash along the trail and nearby river. The National Park Service (NPS) will provide garbage bags, work gloves and safety equipment.
Sign-ups and a safety briefing begin at 10am in front of the Walter Harper Talkeetna Ranger Station located at 22241 S. B Street. Parking is available at the ranger station.
Volunteers should come prepared for a moderate workday with water, lunch, snacks, clothing layers and rain gear. Everyone should be back at the parking lot by 2 pm.
Every volunteer will receive a thank-you gift and each adult who volunteers for the full four hours of the event will receive a voucher for a transit bus ride in the park.
