Fatal collision closes Parks Highway Wed night

The Parks Highway was closed for several hours Wednesday night near the junction of Big Lake due to a head on collision involving 2 vehicles.
A Chevy Tracker was headed northbound around 8 p.m., when the driver lost control, spun sideways and entered the oncoming lane. 38 year-old Jannell Brown of Wasilla was in the southbound lane, was unable to stop and collided with the Tracker. She was transported to Mat Su Regional.
41 year old Rodney Coalson was driving the Tracker and died in the collison. Both people were wearing their seatbelts. Both vehicles were declared a total loss. Alcohol is NOT believed to be a factor in the accident.
The Troopers continue to investigate the collision.
