Fire department responds to truck fire in East Talkeetna

A brand new pick up truck caught fire in East Talkeetna Friday afternoon.  The excitement started when it was discovered a firearm and ammunition were inside the burning truck.

Talkeetna emergency responders came to the aid of an East Talketna man when the truck, parked outside his home on G Street, caught fire.    Nearby neighbors heard the rounds of ammunition go off as the truck burned.  The fire was contained to the truck itself.  There were no injuries, but the truck is a total loss.  No cause of the fire has been determined.
