The bag limit for silver salmon has been increased in parts of the Lower Valley. According to an August 13th press release, the Alaska Department of Fish and Game is increasing the limit from two to three fish over sixteen inches for Fish Creek, Cottonwood Creek, and Wasilla Creek. The Fish Creek named in the news release is not the creek in the Talkeetna area. Anglers will also be able to fish the three creeks on Mondays as opposed to the current weekend-only fishery. The changes will go into effect on August 17th.

Yaks Run Loose on Talkeetna Spur Road
At least twice this summer, yaks have been spotted running loose along the Talkeetna Spur Road. Mat-Su Borough Animal Control has opened a case for multiple reports about the loose
