Flood Advisory Updates
The Upper Susitna Valley is under a flood advisory through Thursday afternoon. This is where we will track the latest verifiable information.
7/23 1:30 pm: The Talkeetna River at the railroad bridge has reached minor flood stage as of 12:50 pm.
7/23 1:15 pm: We have received confirmation from the Alaska Railroad that service north of Talkeetna is currently stopped due to a landslide effecting the tracks. Crews are currently working to clear the slides.
July 23 - 10:10 am: As of this morning, the Talkeetna River near Talkeetna has reached Action Stage, one level below Minor Flood Stage. The Susitna River at the Big Su bridge has also reached action stage. Both rivers saw a significant rise in the morning hours after overnight rain. Neither is currently forecast to reach flood stage.
