Mat Su Emergency Services has issued a warning for the Montana Creek at Yoder road area – High water has eroded about 15 feet of dyke at the bridge on inland side. According to hydrographic information water could be at bridge-level in the next 6 to 8 hours. Emergency Services warns people living on the far side of the bridge that should the bridge be closed they may be trapped on the far side Montana Creek.
There is only about a foot of water to go before engineers on site will close the bridge to traffic. Residents are urged to prepare for a worst case scenario and be ready to evacuate.
