As of Wednesday evening, there are no flood watches or advisories in effect for the Northern Susitna Valley.
The flood watch that had been in effect for the entire area was removed late Tuesday. It was originally scheduled to expire on Wednesday morning. The Yentna and Skwentna Rivers, along with portions of the Susitna River, had been placed under a flood advisory earlier this week. That advisory was expected to expire Wednesday evening, but was no longer listed as of Wednesday morning.
River gauge readings posted by the Alaska Pacific River Forecast Center show the Talkeetna and Susitna Rivers have neither risen nor fallen significantly since Tuesday. As of Wednesday afternoon the Talkeetna River at the railroad bridge and the Susitna River at the Parks Highway are currently at Action Stage, just below minor flood stage.
