Four candidates run for Talkeetna Council

Nominations for the Talkeetna Community Council Board of Directors election are officially closed.

The Talkeetna Community Council nominating committee met in the Talkeetna Village Park Monday night as a jump start on an initiative to hold family friendly events at the Park. Council board member Ellen Wolf says it was very cool to have the short meeting in the Park as a completely different venue.

The council board has 7 seats, 3 of which are open. The four candidates that will be on the ballot are : incumbent Cary Birdsall, Howard Carbone, Larry Dearman and Meghan Vaughan.

Ellen Wolf and Louden Wilson are stepping down from the council board.

The election will be October 6^th at the Talkeetna Library in conjunction with the Borough elections on the same day at the Talkeetna Elementary School
