Friends of Talkeetna Library receive mini-grant from JSCF
The Jessica Stevens Community Foundation awarded a $500 mini-grant to The Friends of the Talkeetna Library.
The Jessica Stevens Community Foundation awarded a $500 mini-grant to The Friends of the Talkeetna Library. Ruth Wood, director at the board, said that this marks the first time that the foundation awarded a mini-grant to a local non-profit in this particular manner.
At a December reception for JSCF supporters, they held a random drawing to allow one guest to choose a non-profit in the community to receive the mini-grant. Sharla Rose held the lucky drawing number and she picked the Friends of the Talkeetna Library to receive the funds.
The Friends of the Talkeetna Library contemplate putting the money towards a set of updated books for the children section and a movable display book case.
