The Mat-Su Valley Frontiersman is running a correction regarding a story on the Talkeetna Sewer and Water system that appeared in Sunday’s paper.
Matt Tunseth, editor of the Frontiersman, contacted KTNA to correct an erroneous statement regarding the recent repair of a pump used in the arsenic treatment process. The story conflated the cost of the repair with a recent loan taken out by the sewer and water system to make repairs and upgrades. Matt Tunseth’s complete statement reads:
“A story that ran in Sunday’s edition of the Mat-Su Valley Frontiersman about repairs to the Talkeetna water system contained a major error. The pump repair actually cost the borough $210 — not $214,000, as was first reported. We’d like to apologize to the Mat-Su Borough’s Public Works Department for our mistake.”
The correction is also posted on the Mat-Su Valley Frontiersman website.
