Alaska State Troopers responded to an unexpected death at the Sunshine Community Health Center late yesterday afternoon. Randy Herring, age 57, of Talkeetna arrived at the clinic complaining of a medical condition. Shortly, he collapsed. Troopers say the Medical staff attempted CPR for almost half an hour before pronouncing him dead.
Next of kin was on the scene. Troopers found nothing suspicious about Herring’s death.
The news came as a shock to friends and family. Past Upper Susitna Senior President Herman Thompson spoke fondly of Herring and said he was very active and helpful in the Upper Susitna Senior’s organization.
