The ice went out on the Susitna River on Saturday night,  and other than the anxiousness that comes with not knowing if the ice will jam and flood low-lying areas, it was a relatively uneventful event. Warm temperatures through the weekend and today are now causing more anxiety as major snowmelt is filling all of the rivers and causing concern as the rivers continue to rise. KTNA’s Will Peterson spoke with Dave Streubel, the Operations Hydrologist for the National Weather Service and he spoke about the rising rivers:
