King named as Mat Su Borough Community Development Manager

The Mat Su Borough has announced a new Community Development Manager.

The former director of the State division of parks and recreation, James King, has been hired by the Borough to direct the department that oversees library services, community enrichment programs, parks and trails and Borough owned lands.

King was with the State of Alaska since 2007 and previously the executive director of Trail Mix, Inc. in Juneau.  He holds a bachelor’s degree in recreation resource management and a masters degree in landscape architecture.

King admits that the Borough offices are undergoing reorganization but it will take him awhile in his new position to be able to respond to questions concerning that issue.

He takes over from Linda Brenner who left the position suddenly almost a year ago.  Jeff Dillon has been filling in as interim manager.
